Default Internet Explorer 9 Pages Do Not Load (Blank White Page)

This is due to GPU (hardware) acceleration not working which is enabled in Internet Explorer 9 by default. Usually Internet Explorer 9 would detect your GPU doesn't support GPU acceleration and would disable GPU acceleration, however sometimes this isn't the case. To make web pages load you need to disable GPU acceleration. To do this, go into Internet Options -> Advanced tab and from there ensure 'Software Rendering Mode' is checked.

    Hope this helps.

    Default Confirmed!

This fixed it for me, bastones. Your post was a huge help.

There was a ton of information out there about disabling add-ons and allowing IE through Windows Firewall, but your post fixed it for me when all the others didn't. Just another point to add for people searching for this phenomenon, when I moved the cursor over the white screen, I could see the bottom address popup as I hovered over links. I think this is an indication that the connection is good, it is simply a GPU acceleration issue.

My laptop is an Asus K42Jv with discrete Geforce GT335m 1GB CUDA discrete GPU.
