Problem with running 5.03GEN-a Custom Firmware

Hi, just got my psp 2day.
been trying this for the past 4 hours or so…
got chickHen to work just fine
But i need help with step #3
what am i supposed to do exactly? i really don’t get it…
tried R or L and it says that something’s flashed
then i press O and it freezes, it doesn’t reboot, it freezes
PS: is there anything i can do to make sure it's working? like with chickhen (checking version)?

Hi

Before proceeding with GEN-A you must have chickenHEN R2 installed....check system settings.

If it is showing 5.03 GEN-A (Full), you are already into CFW

Actually chicken is the hard part.. GEN-A is the easy part

lets troubleshoot yr problem

Double click on Launch-Me.exe, Enter the letter of your PSP memory card, In mine it was E, click START.
are u entering the correct letter?

Files will be copied on your PSP, wait 20 seconds ( wait a bit longer before disconnecting). Disconnect from USB mode, go to Game -> Memory card -> INSTALLER LOADER -> Press L or R Trigger -> Press O to boot in custom firmware

check your firmware by going into settings

followed ur instructions to the letter, but when i press O the screen went black for 15 sec then it shut down (yes, i'm sure i had chickhen running)

is there maybe another firmware i can try? cuz i've seen different interfaces when i checked on youtube

the diff. interfaces you have seen are of different methods, plz stick to any one method.

anyway, Post the following details,

which psp version PSP 3000 or older or newer PSP 2000?
which Memory card?
did you tried formatting your memory card and start all over again?

Firmware 5.03 (got it off ur link), was 4.XX
SanDisc 4GB (original, has the magic thingie working)
Yes, I always format the card after it turns black and for chickenHEN to work if it doesn't the first time

PSP: rebooting in custom firmer...

So many guys have hacked their PSP 3000, never saw a problem like yours

it seems that you are following the steps correctly? now we have to try hit and trial

Before using my tutorial did you tried any other hack or anything?

are you able to run games via original PSP UMD discs?

try this : format memory card, restore your PSP to factory settings, load chicken and GEN-A from scratch

also try "Pressing left trigger while booting into GEN-A"

i did try another method but only when this one didnt work the first 5-6 times (i know this works with other ppl and that it's legit)
and the other one didnt work either, tried it just once
I don't have any UMD discs, PsP came on it's own (brand new, not used as far as i know)

But, i'm using a ChickenHEN_mod, maybe that's it???
i'll give it a few more shots and let u know how it goes

you were using chickenHEN downloaded from elsewhere all this time ?? you deserve this
yes, you have to do it again if you restart/turn off
