Microsoft has recently showcased the all new Windows Phone 7 Marketplace with games, applications developed using Silverlight and XNA frameworks. Most of the biggies in the mobile application development are already developing apps for the new Windows Phone 7 platform which are expected to hit the market soon, Marketplace will support credit card purchases, has a feature of try before you buy, as well as ad supported content and not to mention free apps.

PS3 has become the first console to sign up with all major Hollywood Studios to deliver high definition movies download service, Other than its own Sony Pictures, Sony has signed up with Disney, Fox, Paramount, Universal and Warner for releasing new HD movies on the PSN, all you have to do is, login into your Playstation store and rent/purchase your favorite HD movies, ofcourse you will require a good broadband connection to download the HD content.

Download DirectX 11 SDK for Windows Vista and Windows 7

directx_11There is a good news for Windows Vista users, the new DirectX 11 standard which is the latest version of DirectX used in the Windows 7 OS would now become available to Windows Vista users on Service Pack 2, if you are on older version  of Vista you need to upgrade to Vista SP2 to be able to use the latest platform in DirectX gaming. On the other hand ATI has revealed its first DX 11 graphics card, which is expected to hit stores by the end of this month.

Microsoft Windows Mobile 7 OS: Video Preview

windows-mobile-7 Microsoft has definitely learned a lot from the snappy interface of Apple’s iPhone, they are coming with Windows Mobile 7 OS targeting premium mobiles phones to challenge the Apple realm. Windows Mobile 7 has almost been developed from ground up sporting a new User Interface with Finger Flick Navigation, better web browser. Unique to WinMo 7 is the MyPhone service that lets you backup/store your mobile data like pictures, emails, SMS’s online via syncing, the service will be free to use with 200MB  storage limit and requires Windows Live ID to login, a premium version may also be rolled out later with more storage. It even features remote locking and remote wiping of your mobile from web interface in an event of mobile theft. Windows Mobile 7 will also feature Microsoft’s own application store where users can purchase various applications and games just like in Apple’s App Store.

BSNL and Hungama has partnered to launch a new Music on Demand service that lets you download music and videos of latest Hindi Bollywood Movies at a nominal price of Rs 149/month only. The service also allows you to preview 30 seconds of songs and videos of Hindi Movies for free. As of now the digital music store has around 65,000 songs and 2,000 music videos of various Albums, Bollywood movies, etc.

Microsoft Announces OLED Based Touchscreen Zune HD

Microsoft Zune family goes HD with all new Zune HD with features like OLED Multi-touchscreen, FM, Wi-Fi, HD Output and several more, The device has been named Zune HD as it can output HD  Movies via HDMI docking station(sold separately) to a HDTV,  the new Zune HD also sports a widescreen display with 16:9 aspect ratio at 480 x 272 resolution. Additionally the HD PMP is expected to have a 3.3 inch screen size and will integrate full screen web browser with multi-touch capabilities and built-in HD Radio receiver. Nothing enticing, as it seems to be just another PMP, lets see how it stands up to compete against Apple iPod Touch when full details gets revealed at E3.
