Technology really never ceases to amaze us, a new Enhanced Vision Technology currently being developed by General Motors aims to turn the ordinary car windshield into augmented reality based virtual display that uses lasers, night vision, eye tracking and GPS to assist you in driving. Enhanced vision technology can pin point obstacles in the path, mark the road using lasers during night and can even display your destination using the GPS technology on your windshield in real time.

voice controlled helicopter- techlivez.com

Using the voice activation technology, the quad rotor helicopter will respond to  natural language and will follow directions as per your voice commands. The project is named something like this “Natural Language Command of an Autonomous Micro Air Vehicle”. It accepts the voice commands through iPhone which is translated to machine language via software in laptop which then gives flying directions to quad rotor helicopter. Video after the break.

Microsoft CourierMicrosoft Courier, a device which is kind of  convergence between a tablet, PDA and an e-book reader has been doing rounds on the Internet, with no official word from Microsoft yet, however guys over at Engadget have revealed some refreshing interface and concept videos of Courier, referring it as “Digital Journal”. Courier is expected to be a light weight device measuring a 5” x 7 “ in size with dual display panels powered by Tegra 2.

Bluetooth 4.0  mobiles

Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group) is currently working on the new Bluetooth 4.0 specification which can be seen in devices by the end of 2010, the new specification allows for very low power consumption capabilities, thus can be used in the small devices like watches and gadgets with button cells. Previous version of Bluetooth requires atleast AAA or large capacity batteries to work properly.

This new way of interactive technology using the body as an Input Source was showcased at the Microsoft Annual TechFest event recently held in Redmond. This muscle-computer interface technology uses wearable bio-acoustic sensors that analyzes the mechanical vibrations while we tap fingers on the skin, which are then used as an input command.

Microsoft at its Redmond campus has showcased a new voice translation technology that clearly indicates how our future voice language translations will be going to occur, that is with software. We can communicate with a person speaking another language in our language, what this translating phone does is, it first transcribes the voice of a person, in the video below from German voice to German text then the software converts it to English text and then using text-to-speech technology it outputs into English voice.

Fujifilm after unveiling  3D camera to masses is now back with a 3D photo print system that will allow you to instantly print 3D effect pictures from your 3D digital cameras at the tourist hotspots, theme parks and various events where the machines will be installed. Fujifilm uses its Image Intelligence technology that is applied using the lenticular sheets to create a 3D effect, it uses thermal sublimation process to transfer images.

Windows Mobile 7 is the latest Mobile OS from Microsoft revealed recently by Steve Ballmer at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, it has Zune type interface, made simplified for social networking tasks and everyday mobile usage, additionally it comes with Office, Marketplace for apps and games, Internet explorer, Bing search and integrated support for Xbox Live.
