iPhone in India - Prices Unveiled - Kills the Joy

In past few months, iPhone fever almost hit every country. Every one was excited about its availability and what will be the price of the handset in their region. iPhone fever also struck India, guesses were being made about the price of iPhone in India.

Vodafone and Airtel, both are launching the iPhone on August 22 this month but they have shocked everyone with their sky-touching prices. We expected that the iPhone will cost a little higher than the rates ($199 for 8GB & $299 for 16GB) provided by Apple but this has turned a long way round. The 8GB & 16GB models are priced at whooooping Rs 31,000 ($710) and Rs 36,100 ($820) respectively which is more than 3x the cost given by Apple. Sounds tough? The data plans are even more hard.

Just before the availability of iPhone in India(on 22 Aug), Nokia has unveiled its magnificent product of convergence, the Nokia N96. The new mobile from Nokia is said to be a mix of Nokia N82 and Nokia N95 features. If you ask me then its an absolutely amazing perfect mobile with all the bells and whistles you ever want minus the touchscreen, yeah after the Apple’s revolutionary iPhone, touch screen seems to be a necessity for many as it makes life simple and touchscreen is also better ergonomically. Now lets move on to the current hotty the Nokia N96, i am impressed by its features, it sports a big 2.8 inch screen( same as E61i), FM radio, TV receiver, 3mm audio jack which doubles as TV out. D-Link Launches GVC-3000 Video Phone for India

d-link-logo D-Link has launched a video phone which is basically targeted for the Indian Market. This phone has got some serious video conferencing features which make it a complete next generation video phone. It also supports TV-out and can connect to projectors for a bigger picture. The phone is being launched only in India and will be available from next month.

Hitachi Launches HD Blu-Ray SDHC Hybrid Camcorder

Hitachi has launched the next version of their Hybrid Camcorder-DZ-BD10HA which can record Full High-Definition Video (1920 x 1080) to the internal 30 GB HD or on a SDHC card or on a BD (Blu-ray Disk). The amazing thing is it offers one-touch conversion and recording from HD or SDHC to Blu-ray. It can even write onto the vanilla DVD’s & the best thing is that it doesn’t need a computer to perform all these job. It sports an inbuilt Blu-ray writer which makes shooting and storing very easy.

Asus Eee Ultimate S101 Uncovered

Asus Eee series have been known for their battery life and portability. Another extension being added to this Eee series is the S101 model which is sporting the same configuration of Eee 901 but has some bigger capacity SSD Drives and the brown color (till now it is only the brown). Jerry Shen the president of Asus had itself revealed the new ultimate Asus S101 Eee PC in Taiwan. He followed the same trick of uncovering the machine from envelop as what Apple did for Macbook Air.

Asus in its ever expanding Eee brand has now unveiled a new addition Eee Stick duo which is a Plug and Play Wii style wireless controller. The Eee stick duo comes with a 2.4 GHz RF USB dongle which facilitates the data transfer between the wireless controller and PC, the Eee stick is made up of a seven button “Activation stick” and a “Navigation stick,” which has a thumb-operated joystick mounted on top.
