How to Group Chat With Facebook Friends & Facebook Group Members

12 July 2011 By Varun

Few days back we reported about two new features added in Facebook, that is, group chat and video calling. We have already told you how to setup the video calling in Facebook (read guide here). Now we will tell you about the group chat feature. Facebook group chat feature allows online friends to chat simultaneously in one window. You can also chat with an entire Facebook group, if you are a member of that group.

Steps to group chat with online Facebook friends:

1. Login to Facebook.

2. Open the chat window present in the bottom right corner of the screen.

3. Select any friend, you want to chat with, from that list.

4. Left click on the options icon on chat box and select “Add friends to chat…”.

5. Now add friends by typing their name.

Now you can have a good discussion, since all friends are chatting on same window.

Steps to chat with a Facebook group:

1. Login to Facebook.

2. Select the desired group from left sidebar.

3. Now click “Chat with group” present on the right side of the page.

Done. This will allow you to chat with all the members of that group, just like you can chat with everyone in Yahoo chat rooms.

This is not a complete answer. Groups that have more than 250 members do not have the option to chat, which is kinda annoying. I have been trying to integrate different apps, but that does not work either.
