Display Owner Information on Android Lock Screen

27 July 2011 By Sourojit

Having owner contact information embedded into hand held devices is very vital. Specially when we are concerned about our android devices. Though there are many anti-theft applications already available for android, many people do not like to use them because at times they tend to make your device work slow and drain battery too. In cases like this you may want to simply display contact information so that your misplaced device can be returned to you. Phone Found – Owner Info is a small application that will help you do so. Of course this is not applicable when someone misplaces your device intentionally.

Phone Found – Owner Info works beyond android version 1 and we have tested it on Galaxy Ace running Gingerbread 2.3.3. It is an easy to use application. To use this application you have to open it and press the menu button to get editing and settings options.

In edit options you can enter information like your name, company, contact etc. There is also an option to leave a message but unfortunately that didn’t work while testing this application.

In settings you can set various visibility options for details to be shown on the lock screen. If you have set password or pattern lock then this screen will not appear.
