How to Download Full Websites on Local Disk and View Offline Later

If you browse on Internet a lot, extensively on specific websites to get required data, then visiting these websites on regular basis is obvious. Opening these websites daily is a heavy task specially for people on slow internet connections. Another problem commonly faced by many people is the monthly bandwidth limit set by their ISP for which they have to pay.

If you are also among those people facing this problem then making these websites available for offline access is the best way to overcome the problem.

Nowadays there are many free software present to perform this task but very few of them provide complete satisfaction and are too complicated for a beginner or home user. Fresh WebSuction is a free to use application for windows with which this task can be performed easily in few minutes.

Using Fresh WebSuction:

Fresh WebSuction has a simple interface to work with. Each new website that you select to save on your local disk is known as a project. So to start a new task you have to first create a new project.

Creating a new project is very easy. You have to specify options to download the website, primary options include giving the project name, website url, level to which the website is to be saved and the location to be saved on local disk.

File filters helps you to include or exclude file types to be saved, file types include HTML, Images, Audio, Video, Documents, Archived, User-defined and others and file extensions can be htm, html, shtm, shtml, htms, htmlx, asp, pl, stm, stml,idc, htx, xsp, xml, cfm, cgi, htmp, php, php3, nsf, jsp, aspx.

You can also select the desired location from which download has to be done. This can be the current directory provided, only from within the website or anywhere the links points to. There settings can be adjusted to increase or decrease the detail level of the saved website.

Link conversion options allows you to convert links from the source website to links present on local saved location links. You can also select the links to remain unchanged. This can be done for followed and unfollowed links.

One you are done with setting up the new project, it will appear on left panel of the application. To start the download you have to right click on it. It also provides you option to update previously stored projects.

Once the project is started you can view progress in details or download speed, files copied, status, filtered files etc.increasing the number of threads will also increase the speed of downloading. Once the files are downloaded they can be viewed within the application browser or in a web browser.
