How To Activate God Mode in Windows 7

6 August 2010 By Ashish Mundhra

I am sure every one has experienced God Mode in many of the day-to-day PC games which makes a player omnipotent and indestructible. Well now you can have the same power and command in your very own installation of Windows 7.

As we all know control panel provided in windows is home to all the system settings and tweaks but all the settings are nested and hidden from normal user. Now using this trick of God Mode you can change almost all the settings of Windows  easily.

  • To do so, create a new folder on your desktop.
  • Rename the folder to¬† GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
  • That’s all, you will see that the icon of the folder changes and the number disappears form the name leaving back only the name God Mode. If you browse the folder you will be able to see all the Windows common settings right in front of you with in as sorted list as shown below.GodMode

    This trick is tested by me personally in 32 bit version of both Windows 7 and Vista and will work like a charm. Please do not use this trick in the 64 bit version because it crashed the system of my friend with a B.S.O.D.

    nice! but what about 64bit?

    @tamsan There are many who claim that the trick worked fine in the 64 bit but there are some who claimed that the pc went haywire after applying the trick. So all I can say is, if at all you want to try the trick on windows 7 64bit please do so on your own risk.
