Yesterday, Microsoft announced the expected release of Windows 7 SP1 public beta at Worldwide Partner Conference 2010 in Washington. Along with it, Microsoft also announced Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.

Windows 7 SP1 beta basically covers the security holes found in the previous version. The only new feature added to Windows 7 SP1 beta is the compatibility with USB 3.0.
Note: USB 3.0 support is a rumor, and is not officially confirmed yet.

A new feature named RemoteFX has been added in Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 beta, which provides full control on multiple displays, Aero, and multimedia streaming. However, we can’t really say it as a new feature because RemoteFX has already been provided as an update.
