Apple Unveils Mac Pro, to be available in August

Apple has unveiled it’s mammoth Mac Pro with huge processing capabilities and efficient energy consumption. Mac Pro has dimensions of 8.1×20.1 inch and can be configured to get upto 12 cores of Intel Xeon’s processing power which selectively gives option to accommodate 4, 6, 8 and 12 core processing power. It has 12MB of fully shared L3 cache per processor

It can be configured with 2 ATI graphics card models, ATI Radeon HD 5770 and ATI Radeon HD 5870 with 1GB of GDDR5 memory, PCI Express 2.0, two Mini DisplayPort outputs, and one dual-link DVI port. It can support upto 6 displays, provide digital resolutions upto 2560 by 1600 pixels and analog resolutions upto 2048 by 1536 pixels.

For storage it provides options to put in four 512 GB Solid State drives capable of transferring data at 230 Mbps. For dual processor systems it supports upto 32GB DDR3 and for single processor systems it supports upto 16 GB DDR 3 RAM. It comes pre installed with Mac OS X Snow Leapord and iLife and many other useful applications. Ports and connections available are:

Four FireWire 800 ports (two on front panel, two on back panel).
Five USB 2.0 ports (two on front panel, three on back panel).
Two USB 2.0 ports on included keyboard.
Front-panel headphone minijack and internal speaker.
Optical digital audio input and output TOSLINK ports.
Analog stereo line-level input and output minijacks.
Multichannel audio through Mini DisplayPort.
