Sony Ericsson Unveils Cedar Mobile Phone

18 June 2010 By Varun

With iPhone getting better by every version, it looks that Nokia and Sony Ericsson is concentrating more on budget-phones. Recently, Nokia announced C1 & C2, which are low-budget phones from Nokia with dual SIM capability. Now, SE (Sony Ericsson) has announced Cedar, which is also a low budget phone and offers 3G capability.

SE uses recycled plastic in Cedar, and has a low power consumption charger, no hard copy of manual, waterborne paint, and small packaging.

Here are the Key features of SE Cedar:

  • 2MP camera, VGA video recording @ 30 fps.
  • Music player & FM radio.
  • Bluetooth.
  • 3.5 mm jack.
  • Applications for Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace.
  • 2.2 inĀ  TFT screen with 262K colors.
  • Talk time GSM: 12 hrs 30 min and UMTS: 4 hrs 56 min.

Cedar comes with a micro USB charger, and is available in two colors, black/silver and black/red. SE has not given any details about the price yet, but it looks like a budget phone to me. It will be available in the market in 3rd quarter of 2010.
