Android 2.2 or Froyo is the latest and fastest version of Android operating system for mobile devices. In the coming months we will see a lot of Android 2.2 based mobiles and tablets in the market. Hence, developers and Android users all over the world were looking forward to the release of Froyo, which was finally announced at the Verizon Droid X press release.

Google announced the availability of Android 2.2 source code. Now, with the availability of source code, developers and carriers will work to develop it for their respective devices. So, we are going to see some faster and smoother apps for Android based devices in the near future.
