Jailbreak iPhone/iPod Touch Firmware OS 3.1.2 with Blackra1n

Apple recently released new firmware update 3.1.2 for all the versions of iPhone and iPod Touch which fixes the bugs prevalent in previous firmware 3.1.1, it requires another software jailbreak if you want to enjoy 3rd party apps which has been released now and is called Blackra1n by Geohot.
Users who were waiting for jailbreak of iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G on firmware 3.1.2 can now use this software to jailbreak their iPhones and iPod Touches. This single software will jailbreak your iPhone 3GS/3G/2G on latest firmware 3.1.2, it can also be used to jailbreak iPod Touch 3G/2G/1G, it is the simplest jailbreak available and it does the job in less than a minute. I tried it on my iPod Touch 2G and it does the job in just around 30 seconds.

it wont work.it says wait for reebot but never auto reeboots, and sometimes entring recovery and nothing happens, sometimes it says wating for phone and never works

i have ipod 2G and believe me its working fine …i just downloaded the software and then plug in my ipod and close the i tunes and then run the software and wait for few mins and then it will work for you……it worked for me …i dont know why its not working for you….but you need 3.1.2 software before you do this

hi…this blackra1n thing worked fine on my iPod Touch 2G well and i was able to install Cydia too. But however on little problem. Even though i can install apps from cydia i cant install cracked applications downloaded from other sites (like appulo.us). can anyone give the reason for this. thanks….regards.

ive got an ipod touch 2G and it worked fine for me but
after i installed winterboard from cydia and hit the ‘reboot’ button it never rebooted th screen just stays black when i try to put it in DFU its also not showing up in itunes so i cant restore it

You have to run blackra1n as an administrator if it doesn’t work the normal way.

i do everything it says and when it says wait for reboot it does not automaticly reboot
it just goes to a black screen
For those of you who experienced just a black screen after using Blackra1n try redownloading it fresh from blackra1n.com. This solved my problems.

Then you restore it back to normal does every thing you’ve downloaded stay on there

Ok, answers please. IPod Touch 3rd Gen. Using Windows XP SP3. Have run program a few times and it says it is successful but don’t see app on IPod and does not reboot. I end up having to restore each time. Any help please!!!!!

yes Blackra1n works with iTouch 3g 3.1.2 however, if you have to reboot or battery goes dead, you have to run blackra1n again to reset it, always need a computer side by side with your. Very inconvenient. if any ones how to fix this would greatly be appreciated.

i have jailbroken ipod touch 2g with 2.2.1 firmware. should i use blackra1n to jailbreak it again or should i just leave it alone? i jailbroke all of my friends ipods using quickfreedom and firmware 2.2.1 and it was easy.does anyone know if i can use 3.1.2 firmware with quickfreedom?

Blackra1n was really easy to use hardly any effort needed really a bunch of clicking buttons and the program did the work for u. Love to program, whoever designed it… ur a magician
I just had to start from the beginning again. I see now that when I sync, not all apps from my computer get put on the Ipod. Many if not all came through jailbreaking. Do I have to go and put them on individually again or is there something I am not doing that I should do to get them all to sync? Thanks

Its cuz blackra1n only jailbreaks it not unlocks it.
you need to unlock it in order to run third party apps

Hey guys I really need some help I have a second generation iPod, 8g with 3.1.2 itunes. I followed the procedure correctly and blackra1n was installed however i was unable to get an internet connection through it so i uninstalled it and then tried re-installing it, ive done this many times and the process seems to work but the blackra1n icon will not appear. Please help

Ha i finally resolved my problem, I had to update to 3.1.3 to restore my touch then downgraded back to 3.1.2, re-installed blackrain went into wifi connections reset the settings and wifi then worked, woot!
