Sony PS3 SLIM Releasing in September: Priced at $299
Sony has finally dropped the curtains of the new sexier PS3 SLIM at the GamesCom expo in Germany yesterday, the new PS3 SLIM unit is 32% smaller, 36% lighter and at the same time consumes 34% less energy as compared to previous PS3. Latest PS3 Slim will be shipped with a inbuilt 120GB HDD, other features remains the same as of the older PS3. Sony has also announced a price drop on the PS3 SLIM , the new unit will be available beginning first week of September for a retail price of $299.

Expected Sony PS3 SLIM Release in India
PS3 SLIM will be releasing on first week of September in India, Exact Price is still uncertain at the moment, but we expect it in range of Rs 16000- Rs 20,000. Older PS3 will continue to sell till stocks last but with a reduced price tag.
Update:
Sony India has confirmed the PS3 price cut, the older PS3 bundles will now sell for Rs 19,990 in India. The PS3 bundle will include two games Uncharted : Drake’s Fortune and GT5 Prologue.
The new PS3 SLIM will also launch with a price tag of Rs 19,990, whether it will be bundled with games is uncertain as of now.

PS3 Slim will be available for exact Rs 19,990 in India, it has been confirmed by Sony India and there will be no games bundled with it…expected release date is early November.

Hey, price will not be 16000, 19000 or 20000 INR for PS3 slim in India, as SONY already anounced one flat price, that is 299 US $ worldwide… Somewhere between 12 to 15 K only. It will be lagging on linux side. check CNET review for more details.

Who told you from SONY INDIA about the price 19,990 rs for PS3 Slim. That is the current price for Fat SONY PS3 80 GB now, Just to sell out the FAT PS3 as soon as they can. Once PS3 slim will be in the market, Sony will not sell any fat PS3.
I use ps3 jus to play games offline and online
i dont browse internet or watch movies.
so the gaming experince will be as same as ps3 Fat right
from whatever i have read about this so far…i have concluded that the phat ps3(with two free games) will run till its stocks are finished and ps3 slim will be out around the year end…price must be around 16000-17000 but without any games…so its up to us whether to buy now or buy later

Even if u managed to mod it, u need to go online for any updates,
so if they find that u have modded ur ps3, ur ps3 online account will be cancelled.
u can tell me, that i dont want to use ps3 online,
but if u want to play games in ur ps3, that game need updates , will can be found only on ps3 network (online)
