Hitachi Unveils 2 TB 7200 RPM HDD: Deskstar 7K2000

Hitachi has unveiled a new 2 TB HDD Hitachi’s Deskstar 7K2000, which they are claiming to be the industry’s first 2 TB hard drive sporting speeds of 7200 RPM. It is a 3.5 inch form factor HDD featuring 32 MB cache and 3Gb/s SATA 2 interface for speedy data transfers.

It uses unique five platter design with PMR (perpendicular magnetic recording) technology, it also features eco friendly and power saving features for Energy Star rated computers, additionally it uses  HiVERT( Hitachi Voltage Efficiency Regulator) for power management which offers upto 10% more in idle power savings over previous models.
