Buffalo Unveils Fastest Blu-Ray Media Burners

Buffalo has introduced two new Blu-Ray Reader/Writer which boasts of having burning speeds of 10X for single layer BD-R and 8X for dual-layer BD-R disks, they also support Blu-Ray Re-recordable  media at 2X speeds. The new high definition burners are available in both external and internal flavors.

Sony Intros 32 GB Memory Stick PRO DUO for Cameras, PSP

Sony has unveiled a new 32 GB memory stick PRO DUO for its Cyber-Shot cameras, HD HandyCams and most probably it will work with PSP too, this high capacity drive can be used to store upto 225 minutes of Full HD videos, it can also do 7 hours 38 minutes of HD video (at 1280 x 720, 30 fps,mono) or 6,500 photos at 12 megapixel resolution.

Download ISRO’s BHUVAN: India’s Google Earth [Mini Review]

Indian Space Research Organization has recently launched its indigenously developed 3D Virtual Earth software named BHUVAN with special emphasis on India, it has been marketed as the Google Earth killer and is available for free download via plugin. I have just tried it, it is pathetically slow and nothing  in it impressed me much, Google Earth is far better, the slowness of BHUVAN renders it useless, who would wait for minutes for it to load, only to hang after that. The said zooming upto 10 meters is far from reality, in zooming it is even worse than Google Earth even for India imagery. As BHUVAN is still in its beta version, lets hope future versions to fix the bugs and make it atleast usable.

Downloadable Mini Games and Comics Coming to PSP [PSP Minis]

In order to strengthen its PSP user base, Sony has decided to provide mini downloadable games for its PSP and upcoming PSP Go. The small mini games will be sub-100MB games and could be directly downloaded from the PlayStation network store just like the Apple’s App store service, the only difference is, it will only be meant for games and there will be no apps, depending on the game it could be a free download or a paid version. Sony also announced the availability of Digital Comics on the PSP platform, you will be able to enjoy wide variety of comics on the go starting with Marvel comics.

Sony PS3 SLIM Releasing in September: Priced at $299

Sony has finally dropped the curtains of the new sexier PS3 SLIM at the GamesCom expo in Germany yesterday, the new PS3 SLIM unit is 32% smaller, 36% lighter and at the same time consumes 34% less energy as compared to previous PS3. Latest PS3 Slim will be shipped with a inbuilt 120GB HDD, other features remains the same as of the older PS3. Sony has also announced a price drop on the PS3 SLIM , the new unit will be available beginning first week of September for a retail price of $299.

Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite Coming with Price Drop

Microsoft is poised to bring serious challenge to the upcoming PS3 slim console with the Xbox Elite 120 GB console getting a substantial price cut and to become available  at a sweet price of $299 in as early as August 30. With new Elite model the Xbox Pro console will be terminated and only Arcade and Elite versions will be available in the market.
