iPhone 3GS Price in India [Launching in August]
iPhone 3GS, the latest speedy iteration of iPhone series is yet to release in India, the previous iPhone 3G wasn’t very well received in India due to its high price, buyers were also confused on why Apple was selling iPhone 3G at the insane price as compared to the US where it was available for $99, what they didn’t know was that the iPhone in U.S were locked to their carrier and add to this almost no marketing for iPhone in India, result failed iPhone sales, to the point that Airtel and Vodafone, only companies selling iPhone in India weren’t even comfortable revealing their sales figure, no doubt the sales were dismal.
iPhone 3GS Launch in India
Now Apple is coming back with iPhone 3GS in India, during the iPhone WWDC (World Wide Developer Conference), Apple revealed that the new iPhone 3GS is coming to India in August 2009, no specific date is known as of yet, However there are rumors of iPhone 3GS launching on 9 August, 2009. Whereas previous iPhone 3G was launched on 22 August 2008. So you can be sure that the iPhone 3GS will be launched in India latest by 22 August 2009.
iPhone 3GS Price in India
There’s no word on the exact pricing but we expect the price of new iPhone 3GS in India to be around of Rs 30,000 for 16 GB Model and around 36,000 for 32 GB model. The Indian price of iPhone 3G was also less with Airtel last time as compared with Vodafone.
Pre-Orders of iPhone 3GS in India could be available anytime now.

Indian iPhone won’t work on Sprint. Indian operators selling the iPhone are GSM, while Sprint is CDMA.
if ppl from apple are reading this:….Please, for heaven’s sake, make the 3gs available to be used on any network – especially since there’s not a single service provider which can guarantee uniform performance across India (bsnl comes close, but the support sucks!). we are a pluralistic nation and the way to go is to be ‘inclusive’ and not ‘exclusive’..remember, the big guys cudn’t eliminate thumbs-up!
I used the airtel’s bundled option with free gprs for 6 months and was appalled when i was billed for gprs usage in zones with questionable speed/service.
I purchased 3S iphone 32 GB, Open line from Singapore airport which cost me 1865 Singapore dollars
