Organize Your Windows 7 Desktop with Fences
Earlier we have talked about Bumptop, a 3D virtual desktop that can help you immensely to keep your desktop uncluttered. Today, let’s focus on another program, Fences that helps you organize your desktop.
Stardock’s Fences is a freeware application that draws movable and resizable icons’ containers on your desktop. These shaded areas on your desktop allow you to group similar icons at the same place. Hence, it creates a “Fence”, as the name suggests, an icon group on your desktop. For example, you can create a Messengers Fence and can put all your instant messengers’ (Google Talk, Yahoo Messenger etc. ) shortcuts into it. You can choose among various template fences available or you can create your own without much fuss. This way you can make your desktop less cluttered, neat and clean and also increasing your productivity.
One of the most prominent features of this application is Quick Hide/Show icons on your desktop. Just double click any vacant area on your desktop and instantly all your icons will fade out. Double click again will make your icons reappear. This is really great, isn’t it? Fences consumes very less amount of system resources and its smooth animations make it really an eye-catcher.
