Nokia the world’s largest phone manufacture is planning to launch its own network service in Japan next year. It will be first time in history that a phone manufacturing company will be offering its own network service. Yomiuri Shimbun reported that the Nokia has plans to launch a network service soon in Japan and will later on extend it to other parts of world.

This move from Nokia Inc. will be helpful to consumers in many ways as they will get better offers while buying the handsets and much more. But not everyone is happy with Nokia’s new strategy. The mobile operators in Japan are shocked with the Nokia’s plan as very soon they are going to face heavy competition in the mobile market.

In its initial stage, Nokia will step in with only the high-end models to establish a good brand image in the market. It is expected that Nokia will use the lines of NTT Docomo, the current largest network provider in Japan. Thus Nokia will be sharing the spectrum with NTT Docomo in its initial stage while later on they may start planting their own network.

Nokia is surely bring heavy competition for the network providers in Japan thus overall users will be beneficial as the current providers and Nokia will launch exclusive schemes to attract the customers but users will have to wait till the spring next year to finally have benefit.
