Sony announced a new PSP a few days ago with better screen and some new features and now Nintendo has announced the new Ninteno DSi. It will be the third version of the Nintendo DS handheld console. The new version is around 12 percent smaller and contains some new features.

The new console will be around 2.6mm thick. It will have a large screen ( 3.25 inches ), better speakers and 2 cameras, a .3 mega pixel camera on the internal hinge and the camera on the outside shell. The slot of the Game Boy Advance cartridge will be removed and so it will not be backward compatible. A new SD cars slot will be present for external storage of pictures, softwares and audio files. It will have its own internal flash memory and will come with a built in web browser. Users can now download games from the online shop called DSware shop, and the games will be called DSiware ( like Wiiware ). The games can be download for 200, 500 and 800 Nintendo points.

The new version will be released in Japan on November 1st, 2008. It will then find its way to Europe and America in 2009. It will cost around $180.
