A lot of companies are coming out with 8 MP camera phones this year but Sony Ericsson plans to raise the bar next year with their 12 MP mobile phone. Rumors are going on that Sony Ericsson is working on a new 12MP mobile which will be released in 2009.
The phone will be a successor of Sony Ericsson C905 which is a 8.1 MP handset. The phone is codenamed Kokura and it will have a touch screen interface similar to the iPhone and will have a 12 MP camera with AutoFocus and Xenon Flash. It will be based on the TI3240 chip-set and will run on the Symbian OS version 9.4. The phone will move from memory sticks and will have SD card support. The phone is not expected to have either a 3.5mm headphone jack or a mini USB socket.
Currently it is only a rumour but considering the technology advancement, it is only a matter of time before we see a 12 MP phone. And it might be a great addition to the Cybershot series.
