Many companies have tried to copy the Blackberry template design but a few of them have succeeded in doing justice to it. Samsung seems to have mounted a serious challenge with there SGH-i780 business phone. The phone is going to be displayed at MobileStore, India’s largest brand of multibrand and multi service telecom retail outlet for two weeks starting from July 8th, 2008. Then it will be made available at the Samsung mobile channel and Samsung mobile privilege partner network.
The Samsung SGH-i780 is a feature rich business phone. It runs on Windows Mobile 6.0 and features an optical mouse along with a QWERTY keyboard. It has a 2 MP camera with flash and video recording feature. There is also a video call camera on the front. The 320 X 200 screen is also touch sensitive and the phone weighs only 120 gms. It is fully HSDPA compatible with speeds of up to 3.6 Mbits/sec achievable. It’s a tri-band GSM phone, with EDGE, GPRS and standard 3G, too, so you should be able to make the most of whatever data connection there is available in your area. It also takes care of sharing via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and entertains with its music player. It has a good talk time of 10 hours and standby time of 600 hours which is very impressive for a business phone.
The exclusive premier of the phone through the MobileStore will provide a good experience for the consumer. It will also create a lot of positive buzz for the phone. The phone is quite expensive and is priced at Rs 25,000.
