LG Renames KF600 with “Bikini”!
We know that some cell-phone making companies like LG and Samsung use models for the launch and promotion of the products but this time there is something new. LG has renamed their phone KF600 with the name “Bikini”. The phone was announced in February 2008 and then released in March 2008 has now been renamed just after the two months of its launch to capture the youth market. The phone specifications are quite good as compared by other class-B phones.
The phone weighs around 107 Grams and sports 240 x 320 pixels, 2.0 inches main screen and Touch-sensitive lower display 256K colors TFT, 176 x 240 pixels, 1.49 inches, microSD (TransFlash) - 25 MB internal memory, Bluetooth, 3.15 MP, 2048×1536 pixels, autofocus, video camera with flash. Other features are InteractPad, Scroll & Sweeping control, FM radio, Office document viewer. It offers a standby-time up to 480 hours an talktime up to 4 hours which is OK.
All the config remains the same as before, the only thing that has been changed is the name. Well the move is quite good as most of the non-geeks never remember the model of phones, specially when it sounds very technical like “KF600″. Bikini sounds attractive to the youth (basically male’s) and thus this idea of renaming will boost back the sales of this phone back (atleast for a month!).
