Another competitor to iPhone: BlackBerry Thunder

July 8th, 2008 by Ankit Duseja

So you thought only HTC is up for beating Apple’s iPhone. Well not now, here are shots of the upcoming BlackBerry’s Thunder featuring a touch-screen (well its not known whether it will be multi-touch or not).

BlackBerry is also expected to roll out a new music service similar to that of Apple’s iTunes which will let BlackBerry users buy music directly from the Thunder. An accelerometer is expected as the below screen-shot is getting a tilted view of Thunder’s screen. A good video player is also found on 360 x 480 resolution screen which is slightly bigger than that of iPhone.

Thunder’s other name will be BlackBerry 9500 (Are they stealing N95 attitude? Well surely BlackBerry makes its own way in each phone so the answer is probably NO and also there are two zero’s after 95). ;)

Price? We don’t have any idea on price as well as the configuration. The thing which is available is only the pictures (that too by an Anonymous person as the BlackBerrySync reports).

  1. Woah. This looks pretty slick. Even though it’s been a little while since I’ve been seriously in the cell phone game, I might have to trade up pretty soon and was thinking about a smart phone anyway.
