iPhone 3G complete details & launch in India confirmed by Apple
Last night we had a lot of fun with a sub-live blogging session of WWDC 2008. Apple released the new iPhone 3G with new firmware 2.0 supporting 3rd party Applications. This firmware version can also be update in the current iPhone’s. The launch of iPhone 3G is set on July 11. The most sexy feature of iPhone is its price. $199 for a 8GB version & $299 for a 16GB version. Isn’t that superb?
Apple will be really beating the market of Smartphones with the new iPhone prices. Another add-on they launched yesterday is the App store for iPhone. iPhone users can browse the free & paid apps and download & install them wirelessly. These application will be built by Apple & also the 3rd party developers. Apple will keep 30% share of the price set by developer. Developers can also release the apps for free if they want, in that case apple will also won’t take any amount.

So next question comes to our mind is when it will be available in a a store near you? The answer is not very soon. It will be launching in 22 countries on July 11 but the good news it will be available in 70 countries till the end of this year. And another good news for Indians, apple has confirmed on its site that it will be launched in India by Vodafone. Here is the link confirming my statement. 
The price of iPhone in India is expected/not confirmed to be 8000-8500 INR for 8GB model & 12000-13000 INR for 16GB model. 16GB model will be available in two colors, black & white.

Airtel also unveiled their pre-registration website for iPhone in India following the Vodafone’s move.
Still no information is available about the exact pricing details of iPhone in India.

If it gets released in India with that price tag i will buy one for sure
but i think Vodafone and Airtel will increase the price of iPhone for India before they release it here.

But I also expect that Nokia & other manufactures will surely get their rates down, otherwise they will be badly beated by iphone!
Well yesterday steve assured that price will be around this only! No matter what the country is! & if Vodafone & airtel both launch it, again there will be a price war!

Are you sure the price is tag is 8.5K since we dont have a contract based system in India like AT&T.
Its also being launched by Airtel.
One more point to add, the $199 price is for a 2 year contract period and this rate cannot be directly converted to INR IMHO.
In India they have no contracts right? like what Nirmal said, thr prices in India gonna be very high. Again remember the prices for the new iphone have not reduced. Instead of paying to Apple you are paying the extra 240$ to ATT. So the actual price of this phone is 440$ if it was the same as the earlier contract.
Its confirmed that the prices of 3G iPhone will be more than the normal iPhone price. The original iPhone price was somewhere near 25- 28k.
So its not coming for 8.5K.

i am not sure should i wait for the iPhone to be launched by Vodafone or should i ask my brother who is in US to bring 1 for me.
Guys iphone is now available in India for pre-registration at all Vodafone mobile stores. I ve Updated the post with fresh info. One thing is sure its not gonna be cheap
after lauch of this phone phone price is really high i wont buy it
