Apple’s iPhone Getting Double Launch with Airtel and Vodafone in India

iphone India

Apple has finally decided to stay away from the exclusive single carrier deals and now it will roll out its iconic iPhone with Bharti’s Airtel network in India along with Vodafone network. Though not much details have been revealed yet but according to news sources the cost of the iPhone 8 GB will be in the range of 25,000 INR to 28,000 INR while 16 GB version will cost even more , the heftier price tag is not justified as its available in US at around 17,000 INR for 8 GB version.

If we compare its price with the unlocked iPhones available in the grey markets it still costs you more as one can easily get an iPhone in India at Rs 20K-23K depending on your bargaining skills and if you have some relative or friend in US then it can’t be much better. Rs 28K will get you both Apple’s iPhone and iPod Touch from US.

The iPhone will become available with Airtel and Vodafone’s network later this year.

    Really the price is too high in India. I am seriously thinking to drop my plan of buying one. :cry:

    @Rakshit
    Now they are saying it would be available in 23K INR still high priced IMO, it should be priced below 20K if they want to sell millions here.
    SE P1i and Nokia E61i are still doing great in India and are prime competitors to iPhone.

    If the price is too high, I think people might get it unlocked rather than buying original ones. :grin:

    I think in a country where people use things like dictaphone to listen to music such high prices for ipods are unrealistic.
