March 1st, 2008 by Shashank

If the Co-founder and chief technology officer Steve Chen is to be believed Google’s popular video sharing website Youtube will soon support live streaming of videos. In a recent party in New York City Chen disclosed the news and said that they will be doing this in 2008.

“Live video is just something that we’ve always wanted to do,” says Chen. “We’ve never had the resources to do it correctly, but now with Google, we hope to actually do it this year.”

The live streaming webisites Ustream and Justin.tv are already been famous on internet, The idea of seeing someone live over the internet just by logging into their respective sites is cool thatswhy now google want to dive into the live streaming technology market.

Youtube is already leading the video sharing online market and with plans of live streaming under its belt it would have much better control over market for sure.
