Following the BitTorrents online store LimeWire has also launched its online music store which will provide its users a choice to choose among millions of DRM free tracks and music albums. The new Limewire Download store is currently in its beta stage and they have plans to add thousands of tracks on a daily basis across all genres.
Here is the quoted text from LimeWire Store website:
We’re open for business, but by no means fully stocked. We’ll be adding thousands of tracks daily from across all genres- indie rock will cuddle with alt country, jazz will spoon with metal, and hip-hop will get serious with emo.
Limewire also has plans to integrate the music store with its current file sharing P2P software LimeWire which according to me is the best P2P software available around.
Currently the store is housing a catalog of more than 500,000 tunes, features DRM-free MP3s encoded at 256 Kbps. Lets see how far it goes when it is still under attack from the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) .

I read this news and found it interesting, even the rates are good. May be they will link their P2P with this iste in future.
