NVIDIA’s GeForce 9600GT- First Release Of GeForce 9 Series

NVIDIA has revealed its all new GeForce 9600GT which will definitely blow you up if you have recently purchased 8800GT because the price of the new GeForce 9 Series graphics card is well under 200$. This time NVIDIA has revealed its mid range card first to gauge the market reaction and will definitely follow up with more deadlier graphic cards later on.

The Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT is a card which promises to hit a sweet spot for gamers, offering excellent performance while simultaneously being easier on the wallet. The new card is based on DirectX 10 is expected to provide solid performance at the same time being power efficient.

“NVIDIA continues to innovate in hardware technology so that game enthusiasts and consumers can fully experience the incredible graphics offerings in Microsoft’s operating systems, including Windows Vista,” said Kevin Unangst, senior global director of Games for Windows, Microsoft. “The new GeForce 9600 GT GPU further extends NVIDIA’s ability to deliver improved DirectX 10 performance on Windows Vista at an affordable price point, so that anyone and everyone can have an amazing gaming experience.”

The new GeForce 9600 GT GPU has improved performance-per-watt ratio compared to its predecessor as well as improved compression efficiency. In addition to 64 stream processors-each individually clocked at a blazing-fast 1625 MHz-and a 256-bit memory interface running at 900 MHz, the GeForce 9600 GT GPU is designed for the new PCIe 2.0 bus standard and features backwards compatibility with the original PCIe standard.

XFX has released  GeForce 9600 GT graphics card in India with estimated retail price of Rs 13,990/-   3 years warranty included.

I don’t see the reason this card even exists. It performs worse than the Geforce 8800GT, costs just about as much, so what benefit is there in having yet another G92 card out there…
