Honda Develops 3D Processors For Its Asimo Humanoid Robot

Honda researchers have successfully created a working 3D processing chip by stacking of three different chips together consisting of a processing core ,a signal converter and a chunk of memory. 3D chips which can be considered as the future of computing bacause these processors consume only one-third of power and at the same time are twice as fast as the normal processors(2D). The breakthrough development by Honda researchers is expected to power its famous Asimo humanoid robot.

Skyfire: Free Mobile Web Browser For Windows Mobile 5 And 6

A new startup company Skyfire based in Mountain View, California has just joined the league of free mobile web browsers with its opening of the private beta of Skyfire which is currently available for a limited number of public users. The idea behind Skyfire’s web browser is to provide full feature and functionality of the desktop browsers in mobiles which includes Flash video, Quicktime, Javascript, Ajax and more. The first version of the Skyfire’s free mobile browser would be made available for Windows mobile 5 and 6 platform and there are future plans to release the browser for symbian mobile too.

Mobile Phones With Radiation Sensors To Combat Nuclear Terrorism

To save planet earth from evil terrorism and possible future radiological and nuclear attack , the researchers at Purdue Univ. in collaboration with State of Indiana are working on a system that would use cell phone network to detect and track radiation to help prevent nuclear terrorist attack.The network of cell phones, which already have global positioning locators, can serve as a tracking system when equipped with radiation sensors able to detect even light residues of radioactive material, said physics professor Ephraim Fischbach, who is working with Jere Jenkins, director of Purdue’s radiation laboratories within the School of Nuclear Engineering.

Bionic Eye Gets Closer : Researchers Develop Eye Implantable Camera

Researchers at University of California L.A have for the first time developed a implantable camera that would lead us to the possibilities of Bionic eye in near future. The tiny camera(Intraocular Camera for Retinal Prosthesis) developed by Michelle Hauer and her team is small enough to be implanted directly on the eye’s lens and feeds image data to a chip at the back of the eye which can be either used to aid the blind or can be used in the future robots .
