Transcend has confirmed the availability of the new 8Gb,16GB and 32GB 2.5″ SATA Solid State Disk (SSD) drives .The slim SSD drives will come in a regular 2.5 inch size and features a SATA interface which is backward compatible with SATA 1.0. It comes  with a metal outer case to protect the drive from rough handling and shocks.

This would definitely make a brilliant portable hard drive solution for many, also it can be used in notebooks and regular PC’s as well. The SSD is only 9.5mm which also sports built in ECC( Error Correction Code).

• Less heat dissipation
• Shock proof
• Silent operation
• ECC(Error Correction Code)
• Backward compatibility with SATA 1.0

The new drives from Transcend will make prefect portable drives for daily use, The price is not yet available.
